Congress, AAP trade barbs over Gulzar Singh's death: Rahul Gandhi alleges 'dangerous pattern emerging in Punjab'
PTC News Desk: A war of words has been erupted between the Congress and the AAP following Gulzar Singh's death by suicide. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched scathing attack on the AAP-led government and said that a dangerous pattern is emerging under the Punjab AAP government. He said those who question government failures are allegedly met with threats and torture.
In a post in Hindi on X, Rahul said, "A dangerous pattern is emerging under Punjab's AAP government - if you question government's failures, the response will come in the form of threats and torture."

"Gulzar Singh ji, from the Dalit community, who had to watch his son fall victim to drugs, asked the Finance Minister just this much: why has the government failed so miserably in stopping the drug trade? For just this, he was tortured and humiliated so much, pressured so intensely to apologize, that he consumed poison," he added further.
CM Mann hits back
Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann hit back at Congress leader and said that he should not do politics on dead bodies.
'Rahul ji, do not do politics over dead bodies. Punjabis do not like this kind of politics.” He added that people had rejected the Congress in the past as well,' CM Mann said.
Mann said all the accused in the case had already been arrested and assured that drug smugglers would not be spared at any cost.
Gulzar Singh's family has alleged that he was being pressurised into issuing an apology and harassed for raising drug issued during Minister Harpal Cheema's event. Distressed over the harassment, he consumed poisonous substance on September 7 and died a day later. s
