Delhi Election Result 2025: In a major setback for AAP, Manish Sisodia has lost polls to Tarvinder Marwah. On the other hand, civil services coaching teacher and motivational speaker Avadh Ojha has also lost to BJP's Ravinder Singh Negi from Patparganj Assembly seat.
"It's my personal defeat. I couldn't connect to people... I'll meet the people and will contest the next election from here," said Avadh Ojha conceding his defeat.
After losing the Jangpura Assembly election, AAP leader Manish Sisodia acknowledged the efforts put into the campaign. In a statement, he said, "We fought the Jangpura election with full dedication. The people of Jangpura showered us with love, respect, and support, but we fell short by around 600 votes. I congratulate the winning candidate and hope he will address Jangpura's issues. We will analyse where we fell short and share our findings."
Who is BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah?
Tarvinder Singh Marwah joined the BJP in 2022. Before that, he was a Congress leader and had won the Jangpura Assembly seat three times. He is well-connected within the Sikh community. Marwah was victorious in Jangpura in 1998, 2003, and 2008 as a Congress candidate. He was considered close to former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit.
BJP's First Win in Jangpura
The Jangpura Assembly seat had never been won by the BJP before. The Congress dominated the constituency from 1998 to 2008. Since 2013, AAP had held the seat. This time, BJP has finally managed to make a breakthrough and claim victory in Jangpura.
