Lalu Yadav releases AI parody video mocking PM Modi ahead of Bihar elections | Watch video
PTC Web Desk: In a bold move ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav stirred political buzz by releasing a satirical video titled “Bihar AI”, which takes direct aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The parody video, shared on social media platform X, uses artificial intelligence to generate lookalikes of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar, showing them dancing in the rain before a collapsed bridge. The video is interspersed with genuine clips from PM Modi’s past public events and is accompanied by a catchy song that repeatedly uses the phrase “jumlon ki baarish”—a jab at what the Opposition claims are empty promises by the BJP.
Along with the video, Lalu Yadav posted a sarcastic weather update in Hindi: "Weather alert for Bihar: Expect heavy showers of lies, misleading promises, and illusions today. Be cautious of hailstorms of fake assurances with thunderclaps of deception!"
#Bihar #TejashwiYadav #RJD pic.twitter.com/VrGTcjRN98 — Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) June 20, 2025
The RJD video also features an AI-generated depiction of Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu’s son and senior RJD leader, helping an elderly woman carry a fruit basket—an attempt to contrast the party’s image against that of the ruling NDA alliance.
Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), currently allied with the BJP under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), was earlier part of the Opposition's Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) before switching sides again. The AI satire seems to spotlight the shifting political loyalties and perceived governance failures under the NDA.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi, who is currently touring Bihar, hit back at RJD during a rally in Siwan. He criticised Lalu Yadav for allegedly disrespecting Dr BR Ambedkar during his recent birthday celebrations. PM Modi referred to a viral image where Ambedkar’s portrait appeared to be placed near Lalu’s feet.
“Ambedkar stood against dynastic politics, yet these people dishonour him. They haven’t even apologised for placing his portrait near their feet. This shows their mindset towards Dalits,” PM Modi stated, asserting that he holds Ambedkar “close to his heart.”
The RJD has since clarified that the viral image was misunderstood. They said the camera angle at Lalu’s residence on his 78th birthday made it appear disrespectful. According to the party, Lalu was seated on a sofa due to medical reasons, and a supporter standing nearby was holding Ambedkar’s portrait.
