A close associate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Yadav belongs to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community, representing over 48% of the state's populace.
His appointment signals a significant transition in Madhya Pradesh's political scenario, seemingly marking the conclusion of Shivraj Singh Chouhan's tenure in the state.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's political journey began in 2013 as an MLA, later securing re-election in 2018 and winning his third term in the recent Madhya Pradesh polls from the Ujjain South constituency.
His prominence in state politics grew notably after his ministerial role in Shivraj Chouhan's 2020 government, formed following Jyotiraditya Scindia's move that led to the fall of the Kamal Nath government.
