Maharashtra Cabinet reshuffle: Know who gets what in major rejig by Eknath Shinde govt
Mumbai, July 14: The Maharashtra Government, under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, has on Friday conducted a significant Cabinet reshuffle. Ajit Pawar, the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister, has been given the responsibility of overseeing the finance and planning ministries as part of the reshuffle.
As part of the Cabinet reshuffle in Maharashtra, Chhagan Bhujbal has been allocated the portfolio of the food and civil supplies ministry. Anil Patil, a Cabinet minister, will now oversee relief and rehabilitation as well as the Disaster Management Department. Aditi Sunil Tatkare has been entrusted with the Women and Child Development portfolio in the reshuffle. Dhananjay Munde gets Agriculture and Dilip Walse Patil gets Co-operative Department. Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil gets Revenue, Animal Husbandry.
Earlier on Thursday, Maharashtra Industries Minister and Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant had said that the coordination committee that would be coordinating the allocation of the ministries had been formed. “The committee will coordinate among the three parties. There will be 12 leaders from all three parties in this coordination committee. Four leaders from each party have been named for the committee,” Sawant said.
Earlier on July 2, Ajit Pawar split the NCP down the middle as he joined the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Maharashtra along with 8 senior MLAs and took oath as the state's deputy chief minister for the fifth time. (ANI)
