Navjot Kaur Sidhu explodes at Raja Warring, accuses him of selling tickets and sabotaging Congress
PTC Web Desk: Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who was suspended from the Congress for her controversial “Rs 500 crore for chief minister’s chair” remark, on Wednesday reiterated that both she and her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu remain committed to the party. Despite the disciplinary action, she issued a strong counteroffensive against Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, accusing him of weakening the party in the state.
Navjot Kaur’s suspension from the primary membership of the Punjab Congress was announced on Monday after her comments triggered a political storm. A day later, she escalated her criticism of Raja Warring, alleging that the state unit president had sidelined “70 efficient, honest and loyal leaders” who, she claimed, could have been strong contenders for the party's tickets.
In a series of posts on X, she wrote, “We are and will always be with the Congress… and we will gift a victory in Punjab to the Gandhi family.” She alleged that under Warring’s leadership, dummy candidates were being fielded in several constituencies, putting 70 per cent of the seats at risk.
We are and will always be with the Congress and win our Punjab state and gift it to our own humble, loving and sacrificing Gandhi family. 70% of our efficient, honest and loyal leaders are in touch with me whom you have disassociated with the Congress party and who are deserving… — Dr Navjot Sidhu (@NavjotSidh42212) December 10, 2025
Navjot Kaur also questioned Warring’s electoral track record after his defeats in his own constituency. She claimed that “many tickets in Punjab have already been sold” and accused him of acting in collusion with rival parties to damage Congress’s prospects.
"Raja warring, don’t use your dogs to bark who were given tickets because of you. Why are you constantly working against the Congress party and defeating candidates and forcing them to join other parties??? All 5 MLA’s of Amritsar were against the person whom you made President ignoring 34 seniors .Same thing you have done in collusion with corrupt people and are forcing good people to leave Congress," she said.

She further stated that her earlier comments were misrepresented and insisted that she had clearly said the Congress had never asked her for money. She said her “Rs 500 crore” remark referred to why her husband could not be a chief ministerial face in any other party.
Sharpening her attack, she accused Warring of “selling tickets” during his time in Gujarat and urged him to explain his alleged assets. “Don’t use people who owe their tickets to you to abuse others,” she wrote.
Kaur also alleged that Warring’s decisions had pushed several senior leaders out of the party and alienated a large section of Congress supporters, including those aligned with Ambedkarite ideology.
Warring, meanwhile, brushed aside the allegations, asserting that “conspiracies to weaken the Congress will fail.” Without naming anyone, he said individuals with “no grassroots base” were echoing the voice of the party’s opponents.
The row has intensified internal tensions within the Punjab Congress, even as the party attempts to position itself as the principal challenger to the AAP government ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
