New Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh CM designates to take oath on Dec 13

PTC News Desk: Chief Minister designates Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai are all set to be sworn in as the new Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, respectively.

Mohan Yadav will take his oath as the Chief Minister at a ceremony at Lal Parade Ground in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, while Vishnu Sai will take his oath at Science College Ground in Chhattisgarh's Raipur at 2 pm on Wednesday.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, among others, are expected to attend both ceremonies.

Madhya Pradesh

Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda will act as deputy chief ministers in Madhya Pradesh, while former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will be the Assembly Speaker.

Talking about the oath-taking ceremony, BJP state president VD Sharma said, "Our newly designated Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his cabinet will take the oath in the ceremony held at Motilal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday. It will be organised in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and National Party President JP Nadda and will be historic."

"PM Modi, Shah, Nadda along with other party officials, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of other states, will be present in the ceremony. Apart from this, a large number of party workers will also be present in the program. I welcome everyone attending the program," Sharma stated.

Madhya Pradesh held a single-phase election for 230 assembly seats on November 17, with results announced on December 3.

The BJP, which had been in power in the state for nearly 20 years, won a resounding mandate with 163 seats, while the Congress finished a distant second with 66 seats.

Chhattisgarh

According to BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sharma in Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and other senior party leaders will also attend the swearing-in ceremony of Vishnu Deo Sai.

"Tomorrow is the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and on the basis of the discussions over it, PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda, multiple union ministers, multiple BJP state presidents and multiple BJP state chief ministers are all coming," Vijay Kumar Sharma added.

When asked about the formation of the cabinet, the BJP leader stated that it is up to the CM, whether he does it tomorrow or later.

Vishnu Deo Sai invited former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, former Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo, and Pradesh Congress Committee President Deepak Baij to the swearing-in ceremony, which will be held at Raipur's Science College grounds.

The BJP won 54 of Chhattisgarh's 90 assembly seats, while the Congress won 35.
