Shivraj Singh Chouhan bids farewell: Eight days after the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, the party declared three-time MLA from Ujjain south assembly seat, Mohan Yadav, as the new Chief Minister of the state, thus accepting the Bharatiya Janata Party’s decision to replace Shivraj Singh Chouhan with Mohan Yadav for the chief ministerial post in the state, Shivraj Singh Chouhan bid farewell from the party. 

Bidding farewell as Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said that he would rather die than go and ask something for himself adding that Madhya Pradesh will achieve new heights under the CM-designate of the state Mohan Yadav. 

 Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed hope that the new government in the state will continue to work for the development of the state.

In an emotional farewell message,   Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "I am confident that under the leadership of CM Mohan Yadav, the BJP govt will complete the ongoing projects in the state. In terms of progress and development, Madhya Pradesh will achieve new heights. I will keep supporting him."

 "I want to express one thing very openly and humbly, 'Apne liye kuch maangne jaane se behtar, main marna samjhunga, isiliye meine kaha tha main dilli nahi jaunga'(I would rather die than go and ask something for myself, that is why I said I won't go to Delhi," he added.

• In recent MP Assembly polls, he secured a third consecutive term as an MLA, winning by a margin of 12,941 votes against his Congress opponent, Chetan Premnarayan Yadav, with 95,699 votes

• Yadav's consistent electoral win and his role in the Cabinet reflect his significance within BJP and his continued support from Ujjain South constituency

About Madhya Pradesh Polls

 Madhya Pradesh went to poll for 230 assembly seats in a single phase on November 17 and the counting of votes was done on December 3. The BJP won on a resounding mandate, bagging 163 seats, while the Congress finished a distant second at 66 seats.
