TMC betrayed Maa, Mati, Manush: PM Modi's scathing attack on Mamata-led Trinamool govt in Bengal

PTC News Desk: Narendra Modi on Sunday strongly criticised the ruling Trinamool Congress, accusing the Mamata Banerjee-led party of betraying its slogan “Maa, Mati, Manush” (mother, motherland and people) and failing in governance in West Bengal.

Speaking at an election rally in North 24 Parganas, Modi said the TMC came to power 15 years ago using this slogan but now cannot even say it. He also claimed that the results of the first phase of voting had weakened the party’s confidence. Voting for 152 seats on April 23 saw a high turnout of 93%, while the remaining 142 seats will vote on April 29.

"This election in Bengal is in its final phase, but you must have noticed one thing. 15 years ago, the TMC came to power by talking about 'Maa, Mati, Manush'. Now they can't even utter those words. I'll tell you the reason behind this. If these people utter those words, their sins will be exposed. The cruelty of TMC made 'maa' cry, handed over 'maati' to syndicates and infiltrators, and forced the 'manush' of Bengal to flee," PM Modi said.

He said the strong voting in the first phase had broken the TMC’s “arrogance” and predicted a big win for the BJP in the next phase.

Targeting the state government over jobs and youth issues, Modi alleged that the TMC had pushed young people towards addiction instead of giving them opportunities. He said Bengal’s youth are talented and creative, and the BJP would support their skills, including areas like content creation.

He also accused the TMC of harming the state’s sports system due to “syndicate culture.”
