AAP MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal passes away at 66 after prolonged illness
PTC News Desk: Aam Aadmi Party's sitting MLA from Tarn Taran Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal passed away at the age of 66. Singh was battling from cancer for quite some time. He breathed his last at Escort Hospital in Amritsar.
Punjab Chief Minister took to his social media and expressed grief over his demise. "Extremely saddened to hear the demise of our party's respected MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal from Tarn Taran. Dr. Sahab was a very hardworking and dedicated leader of the party. Heartfelt condolences to the family in this hour of grief. May God rest the departed soul in peace. May the family and those who wish to mourn be granted the courage to bear the loss," he wrote.

Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal played an important role in forming the Citizen Council in Tarn Taran. While serving as an ophthalmologist in a government hospital, he was transferred to the Civil Hospital Tarn Taran. He also raised his voice against the rising fees in schools by forming a parents' association. He also participated in massive hunger strike to designate Tarn Taran a district.
