PTC Web Desk:  A man was allegedly burnt alive after he was called to his former girlfriend's house in Punjab's Amritsar district, where she and her cousin are accused of setting him on fire following an argument, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Singh, a resident of Bal Khurd village. According to the police, Sandeep and the woman were in a relationship earlier and had worked together in the past. The relationship had reportedly ended and Sandeep got married around two months ago.

Arguments turn into fatal attack

The woman allegedly invited Sandeep to her house in Majitha under the pretext of meeting him. When he arrived on his motorcycle on Wednesday, the two began talking, but the conversation soon turned into an argument.

The police said the woman, along with her cousin, allegedly poured petrol on Sandeep and set him on fire. As the flames spread, Sandeep reportedly grabbed the woman in an attempt to save himself, causing her to catch fire as well.

The woman's cousin, identified as Harpal Singh, allegedly tried to separate the two but also suffered severe burn injuries during the incident.
