PTC News Desk: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chandigarh and Punjab, several schools in Chandigarh and Mohali received a fresh bomb threat email claiming explosions would take place at multiple locations in Chandigarh and Jalandhar on July 17. The email also threatened Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu.
According to the email, bombs would be planted in schools across Chandigarh and Mohali, as well as at the Mohali Mayor's office. It also threatened IED blasts at the railway stations in Chandigarh and Jalandhar.
The sender claimed that schools would be targeted at 1:11 pm, while the Mohali Mayor's office would be attacked at 3:11 pm on July 17. The date coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana, where he is expected to inaugurate and announce several development projects.
The email also warned people in Punjab not to attend the Prime Minister's rally and claimed support for singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh.
This is not the first such threat. In recent months, several schools in Chandigarh and Mohali have received similar bomb threat emails, prompting heightened security and investigations by law enforcement agencies.
