Dense fog shrouds Punjab, red alert issued in these North Indian states
Chandigarh, January 9: In the latest weather update issued by IMD, intense coldwave has gripped entire North India. Dense fog and reduced visibility across the state has brought life to the standstill. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi regarding the weather. In addition, in the coming days, the fury of cold and dense fog is likely to continue in the same way.
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), zero visibility was recorded at 5.30 am in Bathinda in Punjab, Agra, Bareilly and Lucknow in UP. At the same time, there was zero visibility in many areas of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. Apart from this, visibility of 25 meters was recorded in Amritsar.
