Golden Temple safe; viral flooding claims declared false by Head Granthi Giani Raghbir Singh
PTC Web Desk: A video circulating on social media claiming waterlogging inside the Golden Temple, Amritsar, has been dismissed as “completely false and misleading” by Head Granthi Giani Raghbir Singh.
The viral clip had sparked panic among devotees and locals, raising concerns about flooding at the sacred shrine. However, Giani Raghbir Singh clarified that the Golden Temple is entirely safe and no such waterlogging has occurred either inside the sanctum or in the surrounding complex.
He reassured devotees that they can continue to visit and offer prayers without fear or doubt. Urging the public to beware of misinformation, he appealed to people not to believe or spread baseless videos circulating online.
Security agencies and the temple management committee also confirmed that conditions within and around the Golden Temple remain completely normal. Authorities have urged people to rely only on official sources for updates.
Meanwhile, heavy rains have impacted Amritsar’s Ajnala area, about 30 km from the Golden Temple. Officials clarified that this situation has no connection to the Golden Temple, and miscreants have been circulating edited old videos to create panic.
