PTC News Desk: In a significant development in Jalandhar blast case outside BSF headquarters, Khalistan Liberation Army (KLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack. In a purported social media post, the Khalistan group admitted to carrying out the blast.
However PTC News does not independently very the authenticity of the post.
Security across Punjab has been significantly tightened after another blast was reported outside an Indian Army camp in Amritsar, where a grenade attack caused minor damage. No casualties were reported in either of the incident.
In the purported post, the group described the blast as part of “Operation Nawa Savair” and issued threats against senior BSF officials, including DIG Sandeep Goyal. It also made claims of casualties, which authorities have dismissed, confirming that no one was killed in the incident.
Earlier an explosion outside Punjab Frontier Headquarters of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Jalandhar was reported late Tuesday night. The police immediately cordond off the area and launched investigation along with the forensic teams.
The nature of the explosion has not been ascertained yet.
Owing to its sensitivity, the area remains heavily guarded at all times, with a BSF sentinel post located near the scooter parking and a permanent naka of the Jalandhar city traffic police set up there round the clock.
