Legendary Punjabi musician Charanjit Ahuja laid to rest in Mohali

A large number of people were gathered to pay their last respects and bid final farewell to the Punjabi music maestro. Several people from across the industry including Gippy Grewal, Hans Raj Hans, Satinder Bugga, Sukhi Brar were also in attendance.

Legendary Punjabi musician Charanjit Ahuja laid to rest in Mohali

PTC News Desk: Legendary Punjabi musician Charanjit Ahuja, who died after prolonged battle with cancer, was cremated on Monday. He died on Sunday at the age of 72 years at PGI hospital, Chandigarh where he was undergoing treatment. 


The atmosphere turned sombre as all the three sons lit the funeral pyre of their father. 

A large number of people were gathered to pay their last respects and bid final farewell to the Punjabi music maestro. Several people from across the industry including Gippy Grewal, Hans Raj Hans, Satinder Bugga, Sukhi Brar were also in attendance. 

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also expressed condolences over his passing away."The passing away of Charanjit Ahuja is an irreparable loss to the Punjabi music industry. His compositions will always rule the hearts of Punjabis. My condolences to Sachin Ahuja (son), family, and his fans."

Charanjit Ahuja passed away at the age of 72 years after prolonged illness. He was suffering from liver cancer and was undergoing treatment at PGI, Chandigarh. He is survived by wife Sangeet Ahuja and three sons.

He was cremated at Balongi crematorium on this afternoon.
