Model jail tiffin bomb case: NIA court declares SFJ's Jaswinder Singh Multani a proclaimed offender

Chandigarh, June 1: Jaswinder Singh alias Multani, a member of the banned unlawful association Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), was declared proclaimed a Proclaimed Offender (PO) in the Model Jail Tiffin Bomb case in April 2022 by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) Special Court in Chandigarh.

Multani is currently in Germany and is wanted on a non-bailable warrant (NBW). On January 5, this year, the NIA Court issued the NBW against him and declared a reward of Rs 10 lakhs, as well as opening a Look Out Circular against him.

Multani is said to be the mastermind behind the planting of an IED bomb outside the wall of the Model Jail in Burail, Chandigarh, with the purpose of inflicting terror and violence. On April 22, last year, a tiffin bomb and a detonator were discovered in a black bag outside the Jail.
