Punjab Congress leader Navjot Sidhu's security cover cut to Y+
PTC Web Desk: Centre and state governments have reduced the security cover of former president of Punjab Congress Navjot Singh Sidhu from Z plus to Y plus. Sidhu was released from the Patiala jail on April 1, where he was serving a one-year sentence in a road rage case.
According to information, earlier too, Navjot Singh Sidhu had Y plus security when he was a minister in Punjab. However, during the Congress government, the Centre feared threat to his life, following which his security cover was upgraded to Z plus .
When he was sentenced to one-year in jail last year, he had Z plus security. However, after coming out of the jail, his security cover had been reduced to Y plus.
Meanwhile, Navjot Singh Sidhu has lashed out at state and central governments for reducing his security cover.
"What happened to Sidhu Moosewala is happening to me now. I have only 13 gunmen left. I am not afraid of death," he said. He added that the voice of truth could not be suppressed by withdrawing bulletproof car.
