According to Badal, the officers on the call were taking instructions from Patiala SSP Varun Sharma on maintaining “law and order” during the nomination process.
The purported recording of Patiala SSP's conference call also include conversations indicating that if any wrongdoings are to be carried out, they must happen outside the official nomination centres- be it in villages, homes, or on the way.
Several DSPs can be heard in the clip claiming they are acting in coordination with local political leaders, who are “satisfied” with the arrangements.
Sukhbir Singh Badal further alleged that the conversations suggest a systematic loot of civic body polls and intimidate SAD candidates.
