Family members of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal collect his ashes; bhog on May 4

Sardar Parkash Singh Badal ‘antim ardaas’: Not only Sikhs, but thousands of people came to pay last tributes to Sardar Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday. Thousands bid adieu to former CM Sardar Parkash Singh Badal during his funeral procession at Badal village. The last rituals of SAD patron were performed by Sukhbir Singh Badal at the cremation ground at Badal’s kinnow orchard.

The flower picking ceremony of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal was performed today by Badal family and other close relatives of Badal’s. Pall of groom descended at the cremation ground where rituals of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal took place. 

Meanwhile, the ‘antim ardaas’ of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal to take place on May 4. Badal family will soon announce the location and place for the last prayers. 

In the death of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, SAD patriarch, an era of politics has also come to an end.  Born on December 8, 1927, he breathed his last at Mohali's Fortis Hospital on April 25. 

Sardar Parkash Singh Badal was a five-time former Chief Minister of Punjab and Akali Dal patriarch. The veteran leader, who served as a village sarpanch, was the youngest Chief Minister to ever hold office in Punjab, at the age of 43.

Parkash Singh Badal remained a foot soldier throughout his life. He led every morcha he participated in. His memory was so sharp and he would keep every one in his mind. Party workers and others in remote villages would often left amazed when he would call them from their first name.
