Sidhu Moosewala's parents stage protest outside Mansa SSP office over inaction in royalty case

PTC News Desk: The parents of slain Punjab singer Sidhu Moosewala on Wednesday staged a sit-in protest outside Mansa senior superintendent of police (SSP) office in connection with their complaint against three digital marketing promoters over an unresolved financial dispute.

The protest coincided with DIG Bathinda range Harjeet Singh’s visit to the office in connection with Operation Prahar 2.0.

The couple claimed that a firm holding the marketing rights to the late rapper’s released tracks has failed to share financial audits and royalty payments for over a year.

“We are being deprived of the income generated by our son’s work. On June 8, 2025, I submitted a complaint against Bunty Bains, Gurpreet Singh Bhasin, and Shabbir Momin to the DGP. It was forwarded to the Mansa SSP for investigation, yet nothing has moved,” Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh said.

Nearly 45 minutes after sitting outside the SSP office, bothe Balkaur Singh and his wife Charan Kaur were called inside to meet the DIG and the SSP.

He further alleged,  “Mansa police were acting at the behest of money. We don’t have money to give to the police. Our earning member has already been killed. We are elderly and have to visit police offices after taking medicines. We have now come to meet the DIG to make him aware of our grief. We will not leave until the FIR is registered.”

The couple however refused to disclose exact amount of alleged misappropriation and demanded registration of FIR against the named individuals.
