From home businesses to handicrafts, local talent shines at Wave Estate Winter Festival
PTC Web Desk: Wave Estate, Sector 85, Mohali, came alive with colour and energy during the Wave Estate Winter Festival held on December 13 and 14. The two-day event was organised to support local entrepreneurs and strengthen bonding among residents.
The festival offered a great opportunity for local and home-based entrepreneurs to display their products. Around 75 stalls were set up, showcasing handmade crafts, customised gifts, clothes, home decor items, handloom products, bakery goods, gardening decor and other lifestyle products. To ensure maximum participation, stall charges were kept low, making it easier for small business owners to be part of the event.
A major attraction was the food court, which served a wide variety of cuisines and remained busy throughout the festival. Children also had plenty to enjoy, with a special play area, cartoon characters, tattoo making and fun activities that created a cheerful, family-friendly environment.
Several activities kept visitors engaged, including tambola, ramp walks for children and couples, and live performances. The evenings featured theme-based music programmes such as Retro Night and Fusion Rock Night, both of which received an enthusiastic response.
The festival was attended by prominent guests, including Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, BJP district president Sanjeev Vashist, SAD district president Parvinder Sohana, Congress leader Ruby Sidhu and DGP (Law & Order) Arpit Shukla. They praised the initiative for encouraging local talent and bringing the community together.
The event was organised by Wave Estate residents, with the organising committee members Ankur Chhabra, Varun Vasudeva, Sushil Batra, Shweta Shukla, Sanjay Kishore Soni, Akhilesh Pratap Singh and Dinesh Wadhwa playing a key role in ensuring smooth arrangements and a memorable experience for everyone.
