Amritsar, March 6: Six BSF jawans were shot dead and many have been reportedly injured during a firing that took place at the Border Security Force (BSF)’s Khasa headquarters in Amritsar on Sunday. According to sources, a jawan started shooting indiscriminately at the mess of BSF headquarters at Khasa, Amritsar in which around 10 to 12 soldiers were injured. The injured were rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital. "5 troops were injured today due to fratricide committed by Ct Satteppa SK at HQ 144 Bn Khasa, Amritsar. Ct Satteppa S K was also injured. Out of the 6 injured, 5 troops incl Ct Satteppa, have lost their lives, one critical. A court of inquiry has been ordered," read an earlier statement issued by BSF. As per the information, he opened fire in frustration because he was allegedly being forced to work more. He even shot himself after which he was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. All the injured BSF personnel were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The deceased have been identified as Hc Ram Binod from Bihar, Hc Toraskar D S (Maharashtra), Hc Rattan Singh (J&K) and Hc Baljinder Kumar (Haryana's Panipat). Two jawans were killed on the spot while eight jawans were seriously injured in the firing out of which two of them succumbed to their injuries.
