Punjab Govt to withdraw Ghar-Ghar Atta scheme, to come up with new plan

Chandigarh, October 17: An important hearing was held in the Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding the Aam Aadmi Party's multi-purpose Ghar-Ghar Atta Yojana. In its response to the High Court, the Punjab government stated that it will create a new scheme that will be similar to the central government's programme. The Punjab government asserted in the High Court that the Ghar-Ghar Atta Yojana would be withdrawn. In the process, the government intended to bypass the fair-price shops. The AAP government planned to launch the scheme on October 1. However, the National Food Security Act (NFSA) Depot Holders' Welfare Association, Bathinda, filed a High Court challenge to the government's proposal.
