Punjab Covid-19 death toll almost double in a day

The death toll due to coronavirus in Punjab has increased 1618 to after 106 deaths due to COVID-19 were reported from the state on Wednesday. According to the media bulletin issued by Punjab Health Department, Amritsar reported 8 new deaths, Bathinda reported 10, Faridkot 2, Fatehgarh Sahib 3, Fazilka 3, Ferozepur 5, Gurdaspur 8, Hoshiarpur 5, Jalandhar 11, Kapurthala 5, Ludhiana 18, Mohali 9, Muktsar 1, SBS Nagar 1, Patiala 6, Ropar 7, Sangrur 2, and Tarn Taran 2. The total number of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 56,989 after 1,514 new cases were reported from the state, as of Wednesday evening. The total number of recoveries has increased to 39,742 after 1,595 COVID patients were declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Among the new recoveries, Ludhiana reported 347 new recoveries, Jalandhar reported 84, Patiala 179, Amritsar 108, Sangrur 08, Bathinda 197, Gurdaspur 13, Ferozepur 397, Hoshiarpur 104, Pathankot 25, Barnala 12, Fatehgarh Sahib 1, Kapurthala 4, Tarn Taran 47, Fazilka 26, SBS Nagar 7, Muktsar 35, and Mansa 1.
