Punjab police arrest 2 more terror operatives of Pak-based module in Ferozepur

Chandigarh, May 6: A day after busting a terror network operated by Pak-based gangster-turned-terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, Punjab Police on Friday nabbed two more operatives from Ferozepur. The arrested accused have been identified as Akashdeep alias Akash of Ferozepur and Jashanpreet Singh alias Jass of Faridkot. SSP Ferozepur Charanjit Singh informed that on the disclosures of four accused arrested in Haryana, Punjab Police had been continuously conducting raids to apprehend the other members of the module. He also mentioned that the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Fazilka along with District Police Ferozepur arrested these two operatives when they were trying to flee from Ferozepur in their Mahindra Scorpio car after the arrest of their four accomplices in Karnal. Two more terror suspects held Earlier, four accused persons identified as Gurpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh and Parminder Singh, trio residents of village Vinjoke in Zira, Ferozepur; and Bhupinder Singh of Village Bhatian in Ludhiana were detained by the Karnal Police. Three IEDs packed in a metallic case (2.5 kg each) and one pistol were also recovered from the detained persons. Raja is a hardcore criminal with dozens of criminal cases registered against him. Two more terror suspects held According to the preliminary investigations, both operatives were directly involved in Thursday's busted module and they had received several consignments sent by Pak ISI and Pak based pro-Khalistan terrorist groups and further delivered it at the behest of Rinda. According to SSP Charanjit Singh, Akash said that Rinda had supplied explosive consignments by drones, which he and Gurpreet received in his grandmother's village and placed at Rinda's specified locations. ਕਰਨਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਫੜੇ ਗਏ 4 ਸ਼ੱਕੀ, ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ‘ਚ ਅਸਲਾ, ਬਾਰੂਦ ਬਰਾਮਦ Meanwhile, a new case has been filed against these suspects at Ferozepur Cantt Police Station under the UAP(A) Act, the Explosive Act, and the Arms Act. Both arrested accused were taken into custody and put on police remand for further investigation.
