Rahul Gandhi files nomination from Amethi
The Congress President Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination papers for the coming Lok Sabha elections from Amethi parliamentary constituency on Wednesday. At the time of filing of nomination papers, his mother, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, sister, Mrs Priyanka Gandhi Vadhra, and brother-in-law, Mr Robert Vadhra, were also present.

Rahul Gandhi reached the collectorate after a roadshow through Amethi. He is also contesting from Wayanad Constituency in Kerala. He filed his nomination papers on April 4.
Union Minister and Bhartiya Janta Party candidate, Smriti Irani, will also file her nomination papers for the Lok Sabha Polls from Amethi Constituency on April 11.

According to Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) district President Durgesh Tripathi, earlier she was to file her nomination on April 17. Since it was a holiday, she would now be filing her nomination on April 11. At the time of filing, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP in-charge for Amethi Mohsin Raza, and MLA Jagdishpuri Suresh Pasi will be present at the venue.
Amethi goes to the polls on May 6 in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
