Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Tuesday announced that the schools in Punjab would open only after the coronavirus pandemic is over.
The development comes at a time when the COVID-19 cases in Punjab are witnessing decline in daily cases.
The schools would not open for classes up to 8. The schools reopened for Classes 9 to 12 as of the order issued in October but only few of them attended the classes.
Therefore, the online classes would continue to function in Punjab.
Vijay Inder Singla further said that the government is monitoring the situation closely.
The schools in Punjab for Classes 9 to 12 were allowed to reopen from October 15 in line with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
