X new feature: You can soon make audio, video call on X without phone number

X new feature: Tesla CEO Elon Musk is always full of surprises and keeps its users engaged new features and updates with the platform. 

After bringing a significant change in changing the logo of Twitter and introducing a feature to hide the Blue Tick and some other special features X’s CEO Elon Musk came up with another new feature for X. 

Elon Musk announced that X users would soon be able to try new features like audio and video calls in the most-hyped platform. 

The new feature will only be compatible with Android, iOS, PC, and Mac. While announcing about the upcoming feature in X (former Twitter) Elon Musk also unveiled the special and most interesting feature i.e. the audio and video calls can be made without the phone numbers. 

Yes, you read it right! Isn’t it interesting that one can make a call without using phone number. 

Elon Musk also took to his X handle to announce the upcoming feature and wrote, “Video & audio calls coming to X: - Works on iOS, Android, Mac & PC - No phone number needed - X is the effective global address book That set of factors is unique.”

However, the official date of the launch of the new feature is yet to be announced. 

You can soon see the features at the top left of the X DM screen. 

The audio and video calls are, however, another step towards Musk's vision of X becoming the "everything app". Musk has often seen himself as a challenger to Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg and has a vision to make X bigger.

Earlier, X also posted about the Audio and Video improvements on the platform which included allowing premium subscribers to post Long videos of upto 2 hours, improved live broadcasting quality from mobile, immersive video player in Android and iOS and speak in & co-host a Space on web - support for millions of participants on Spaces.
