Shahkot bypoll: 70 families switch from AAP to Shiromani Akali Dal
Shiromani Akali Dal strengthens as 70 families from village Aidalpur Shahkot joined Shiromani Akali Dal on Thursday ahead of Shahkot by poll that are scheduled for 28 May.
Joining Akali Dal on Tuesday, the loyalists to Aam Aadmi Party by these families saw a significant turn.
During the last elections, these families were a part of Aam Aadmi Party.
They were welcomed in SAD by Gulzar Singh Ranike, SAD SC Wing convener and Lakhwinder Singh Ghuman Dalit Akali leader.
The families have also said that we will make our best efforts to make SAD candidate Naib Singh Kohar, son of late ex-minister Ajit S Kohar win the Shahkot elections.
Meanwhile, Punjab Government has announced holiday on 28th May, 2018 in Shahkot in view of the By-poll. This step has been taken to facilitate the voters to exercise their right to vote.
