SL Dharmegowda Death: Deputy Speaker of Legislative Council found dead in Karnataka
SL Dharmegowda Death: JD(S) leader and Karnataka legislative council deputy chairman SL Dharmegowda (65) allegedly committed suicide as he was found dead on railway tracks near Kadur in Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka on Tuesday.
According to the police, SL Dharmegowda may have committed suicide. As per Chikkamagaluru DC Dr. Bagadi Gautham, the cause of death can only be confirmed only after the autopsy.

Meanwhile, the senior leaders including BJP national general secretary CT Ravi and Dharmegowda’s brother Bhojegowda, an MLC, have rushed to the spot.
Likewise, an investigation has been launched into SL Dharmegowda's death whose body parts were recovered from the spot.

Reportedly, Dharmegowda had left home in Sakharayapattana in Kadur at around 7 pm on Monday but later went missing.
BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje took to Twitter and wrote: "Shocked beyond words to know the tragic news of Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Sri SL DharmeGowda's demise!! A gentleman politician, rose from Panchayat to Legislator's council through his hard work, deeply disturbed by his untimely death! May he attain Sadgati!"
She added: "Sri #SLDharmeGowda lived a disciplined life & widely respected by all, was deeply disturbed & upset ever since he was pulled down from Chairman's seat by Congress MLCs. Representatives should learn to behave, Karnataka will miss a leader of impeccable character! Om Shanti!"
