Like to end it here: Smriti Mandhana, Palash Muchhal call off wedding ending weeks of speculation
PTC News Desk: India cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have officially cancelled their wedding. Mandhana confirmed the decision in an Instagram post after several weeks of intense speculation.
On December 7, she released a brief statement asking for privacy and saying she wanted to put an end to the discussions surrounding her personal life.

"Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off," Mandhana said.
"I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace," she added.
The wedding, expected to be a grand affair following India’s Women’s World Cup triumph, had originally been scheduled for November 23, 2025, in Sangli. Smriti and Palash had gotten engaged after he surprised her with a proposal at DY Patil Stadium, the venue of the World Cup final.
However, the ceremony was postponed indefinitely when Mandhana’s father suffered a medical emergency on the morning of the wedding, and soon after, Palash was also hospitalised due to extreme stress. With both families facing a crisis, they chose to cancel the event for the time being.
Rumours then spread accusing Palash of infidelity, which his family strongly denied, calling the allegations baseless.
In the aftermath, Mandhana and several teammates who attended the ceremonies removed related posts from social media and maintained silence. During the turmoil, teammate Jemimah Rodrigues chose to remain in India, skipping the Women’s Big Bash League to be by Mandhana’s side.
Mandhana’s December 7 statement marks her first public comment since the wedding celebrations were halted.
