PTC Web Desk: The much-anticipated Neeraj Chopra–Arshad Nadeem face-off failed to ignite at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, as both star javelin throwers bowed out without medals on Thursday.

India’s defending world champion Neeraj Chopra could only manage an eighth-place finish, registering a best throw of 84.03 metre in his second attempt. He fouled in the fifth round, which ended his chances of improving his position.
