SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' smashes box office records; earns Rs 233 cr worldwide on Day 1
The magnum opus of director S.S. Rajamouli, 'RRR,' starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, has smashed all box office records to become India's biggest film.
Taran Adarsh, a well-known trade guru, tweeted on Saturday, "RRR smashes all records on Day 1. Overtakes 'Baahubali 2'. 'RRR' is now the number one opener of Indian cinema. The worldwide Day One business [Gross BOC]: Rs 223 crore. S S Rajamouli is competing with himself."
The industry expert also shared a poster confirming the figure.
Taran went on to say that the massive popularity of 'RRR' had impacted the collections of 'The Kashmir Files.'
The industry expert claimed that 'RRR' had opened to record numbers in New Zealand and Australia and that the film had surpassed 'The Batman' to take the top spot on Friday in Australia.

He said that the film had made Rs 4.03 crores in Australia and Rs 37.07 lakhs in New Zealand, as well as an 'earth-shattering start' in the United States.
'RRR' has collected $3,198,766 from the preview collections on Thursday in the US and in Canada it made $270,361. The film has earned Rs 26.46 crore in North America, while in the UK, it made Rs 2.40 crore.
The Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer film has managed to collect around Rs 223 Crore worldwide.
In India, RRR has minted over Rs 120 Crore at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana box office, according to early estimates. In Tamil Nadu, the film earned over Rs 10 Crore.
In Karnataka and Kerala, the action film grossed Rs 14.5 Crore and Rs 4 Crore respectively. The blockbuster film collected around Rs 25 Crore in North India, taking the total collection for India is Rs 156 crore.
