Sukhbir Badal thanks Akali workers for braving all odds to attend Jabar Virodhi rally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the around one lakh party workers who attended the party’s Jabar Virodhi rally at Faridkot despite all odds and said the Akali workers had sent a clarion message to the Congress government they they would not allow the voice of democracy to be muzzled. Also Read: People of Punjab want to get rid of Congress government, says Sukhbir Singh Badal In a statement here, the SAD president said reaching the rally site itself was an uphill task with the State police closing down many routes. “Many workers were diverted to different roads but they persisted in their determination to reach the rally site. Some even had to trudge several kilometers to reach the rally but this did not dampen their enthusiasm. Thanking the SAD workers for the sacrifices made by them for the party, the SAD president said the party workers had again proved that they were not afraid of anyone. Mr Badal said while the Akali workers had foiled Congress attempts to derail the party rally, they had also written a new chapter in the history of the State by extending their overwhelming support to the SAD. “They have in this process also started the reverse countdown of the Congress government. I thank them for this feat. History will remember this day as the decisive day when the tide changed irreversibly against the Congress due to the grit and determination of the Akali worker”, he added. -PTC NEWS
