AK and Adinda met on social media in 2023, where their virtual connection blossomed into a real-life romance. When they met in person, Adinda's choice of traditional Muslim attire, which concealed her entire face, seemed a sign of piety to AK.
Their whirlwind romance led to a swift marriage on April 12, in a modest ceremony at AK's home, as Adinda claimed she had no family to invite. However, post-wedding, Adinda's refusal to unveil her face, socialise, or consummate the marriage raised AK's suspicions.
Driven by doubt, AK investigated and discovered that Adinda's parents were not only alive, but ignorant of their child's marriage. The bombshell revelation? Adinda was actually a man named ESH, a cross-dresser since 2020, who had meticulously crafted a female persona.
ESH confessed to the police that the marriage was a ploy to steal AK's family assets. The police, impressed by ESH's convincing feminine disguise, noted his high-pitched, gentle voice. "In the wedding photos, Adinda looks exactly like a real woman," the police said.
Now facing fraud charges, ESH could spend up to four years in prison. Internet is ablaze with reactions, with one commenter summing up the collective disbelief: "Poor AK, deceived and distressed, losing both his marriage and money."
