Diljit Dosanjh addresses fake ticket sales during Indore concert, promotes 'Vocal for Local'
PTC Web Desk: Diljit Dosanjh, currently captivating fans with his Dil-Luminati India Tour, recently raised concerns about the sale of fake concert tickets. Performing in Indore, the Punjabi music sensation highlighted the importance of the 'Vocal for Local' initiative while reflecting on the changing dynamics of India’s music scene.
During the concert, Diljit Dosanjh said times had evolved, with Indian artists now performing live for their fans, a significant shift from when singers stayed behind the scenes. Referencing Rahat Indori's poetry, he emphasized his resilience, saying he remains unfazed by criticism.
A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) captured Diljit addressing the issue of ticket fraud. The caption read: "Singer @diljitdosanjh speaks on black market ticket sales for his concerts. He shared his views on how singers have transitioned to center stage in Indian music, adding, 'Nothing else has changed'" (sic).
In the clip, Diljit expressed support for his fellow artists, Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon, who are also touring. “The era of independent music is here,” he stated. “While challenges like fake ticket sales persist, we must continue working hard. Indian music is reaching new heights, and it’s time for independent artists to shine.”
Diljit further commented on how Indian artists are now drawing massive crowds, a shift from earlier days when international performers dominated the Indian concert scene. He quipped that even the black-market sale of tickets has evolved, now involving Indian artists—a testament to the growing influence of homegrown talent.
Before his Indore concert, Diljit performed in Bengaluru, where Bollywood star Deepika Padukone surprised the audience by joining him on stage. The duo danced together, and Deepika taught Diljit a few Kannada phrases, delighting fans with their camaraderie.
