Goa airport turns Garba ground as Surat-bound flight gets delayed for over five hours
PTC News Desk: The Goa airport on Sunday witnessed unusual sites over delayed flight that too during festive season. A Surat-bound flight, which was scheduled to depart from Goa at 5 pm got delayed by five hours.
Passengers were looking forward to going to Surat and participating in Navratri festivities, particularly Garba. But the flight was delayed due to a technical issue.
Eager and anxious passengers, who wanted to celebrate navratri festivities, approached the flight attendant and expressed their desire for the same. And that opened doors to celebration at the airport.
The flight attendant arranged for speakers, bringing everyone together for Garba. The video of people, including airline staff, dancing to folk songs, has gone viral.
It was unusual sight to wtness as passengers, who usually get agitated over delayed flights announcements that too if it happenes during festive seasons when plans are already in place and celebrations scheduled.
The video is doing rounds on social media showing passengers clapping and grooving to traditional beats. In between, airline staff is seen joining the celebration and tapping foot. The other passengers, waiting for their flight can also be seen enjoying the scene.
