PTC Web Desk: The Independence Day special episode of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 17' will feature three distinguished women officers from the Indian Armed Forces — Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and Commander Prerna Deosthalee. The episode, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, will air on August 15 (Sunday) at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.

Sony TV shared a promotional video on Instagram, offering a sneak peek into the patriotic episode. The clip opens with Colonel Sofiya seated on the hot seat alongside Wing Commander Vyomika and Commander Prerna. In conversation with Amitabh Bachchan, Col Sofiya recalls the events leading to Operation Sindoor, saying, “Pakistan had been engaging in such actions repeatedly, and it was necessary to respond. That’s why Operation Sindoor was planned.” Amitabh listened intently, nodding in agreement.

The officers then introduced themselves and spoke about their presence on the show to commemorate Independence Day. Amitabh concluded the interaction with a spirited call of “Bharat Mata ki,” to which the audience responded with a resounding “Jai.”

Col Sofiya and Wing Commander Vyomika played a central role in briefing the media on Operation Sindoor — a military action launched in the early hours of May 7 this year in retaliation for the Pahalgam Terror Attack. The operation triggered a four-day conflict between India and Pakistan, ending on May 10 after both sides reached an understanding.

Under Operation Sindoor, Indian forces destroyed terrorist camps at nine locations in Pakistan. On the intervening night of May 8 and 9, the Indian Army successfully repelled multiple drone attacks along the western border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
