Uttarakhand Forest Fire: Over 46 wildfires in last four days, wildlife species in danger

While the nation is busy in fighting coronavirus pandemic, the state of Uttarakhand has been dealing with another tragedy. For the past four days, as many as 46 forest fires have been wreaking havoc in Uttarakhand. Since the beginning of the year, the state has a deal with 46 wildfires. These wildfires have affected over 51.34 hectares of forest land in the state putting to danger the wildlife species residing in the forests. As per the report, around 21 instances of forest fires have been reported from the Kumaon region, making it the worst-hit regions in the state. Garhwal has witnessed 16 incidents of forest fires while reserve forest area has witnessed 9 incidents of forest fires.
