Shimla snowfall: Himachal Pradesh witnessed its first widespread snowfall of the season, enveloping several areas in upper Shimla, Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, and Kullu. The picturesque landscape turned into a winter wonderland, marking the onset of winter magic in the region.

Himachal Pradesh unfolds as a mesmerizing snowy wonderland, captivating all who venture into snow-capped peaks and pristine landscapes. 

Shimla has undergone a stunning transformation into a winter wonderland, draped in a delicate, pristine layer of freshly fallen snow. The charming hill station experienced its first snowfall of the year, weaving a spellbinding allure over its picturesque terrain.

As the winter weather continues to embrace the state, residents and visitors alike are urged to exercise caution and stay updated on weather advisories for their safety. 

As the snow gently descended from the heavens, visitors found themselves entranced by the tranquil beauty of their surroundings. The streets of Shimla burst into vibrant life with the joyous chatter of tourists, their faces adorned with smiles as they reveled in the magic of the season's inaugural snowfall.

Meanwhile, the India Metrological Department issued an orange alert for various places in Himachal Pradesh indicating the possibility of snowfall in higher mountains and rain in other parts of the state during the next 48 hours.

According to IMD from the late night of January 30 to the morning of February 2, heavy rain/snowfall is likely at some places in Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, Mandi, Shimla districts.
The thunderstorm alert has been issued for today for Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, Shimla, Bilaspur, Mandi and Sirmaur. Further, for the districts of Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu and Kinnaur orange alerts have been issued.
