Karachi, September 29: A devastating suicide blast near a mosque in Pakistan's troubled Balochistan province has left a grim toll of 55 fatalities and approximately 130 individuals wounded. The tragic incident unfolded on Friday as people gathered for a rally to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, as reported by multiple media outlets.

The explosion shattered the calm near the Madina Mosque in the Mastung district, with the shockwaves of the blast reverberating through the region. Tragically, among the deceased was Mastung DSP Nawaz Gashkori, who was dutifully overseeing the arrangements for the rally.

The incident occurred amidst preparations for the celebration of Eid Milad un Nabi, the joyous observance of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. According to City SHO Mohammad Javed Lehri, the explosion was definitively a "suicide blast," with the assailant detonating explosives adjacent to the DSP's car.
