Did Pak PM gatecrash Putin-Erdogan huddle? Viral video shows another embarrassment for Pakistan
PTC News Desk: After being kept waiting for around 40 minutes, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appeared visibly upset and unexpectedly walked into a closed-door meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Turkmenistan. What was supposed to be a scheduled meeting with Putin took an awkward turn due to the delay.
A video shared by RT India shows Sharif leaving a waiting hall and heading straight toward the room where Putin and Erdogan were in discussion. Surrounded by security personnel, he entered the room but was quickly stopped by guards moments later. Another clip shows Sharif sitting beside an empty chair marked with a Russian flag, looking impatient as he and his delegation waited for Putin to arrive.
However, hours later, RT India clarified that the post might have been a misrepresentation of the events.
"We deleted an earlier post about Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif waiting to meet Vladimir Putin at the Peace and Trust Forum in Turkmenistan. The post may have been a misrepresentation of the events," RT India tweeted.
Sharif’s sudden entry was brief and appeared to be an impulsive move after being made to wait. He left the room within about ten minutes, just as abruptly as he had entered. The incident quickly drew attention online, with many social media users making fun of Sharif for losing his patience and interrupting a high-level meeting instead of waiting for his turn.
"After 40 mins of wait, even Zomato delivery guy gives up. Sharif still didn’t," a user wrote.
"Ignored him like a traffic signal ka bhikhari (beggar)," another said.
"Beggars cannot be choosers," a third one wrote.
