Hamas releases two more hostages from captivity in Gaza; more in the offing

PTC News Desk: In the midst of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, the terrorist group released two more hostages on Tuesday, according to The Times of Israel, who identified them as Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz.

According to the report, a military helicopter moving the two freed hostages landed on the roof of Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital.

According to a nurse at the Ichilov Hospital, Cooper and Lifshitz appeared to be in good health after arriving at the Israeli Medical Centre following their release from Hamas captivity in Gaza.

According to the nurse, the two elderly hostages had an emotional reunion with their families.

Both of the released hostages were on medication that they had not received during their two weeks in captivity.

According to The Times of Israel, the nurse stated that the hospital authorities will have a better understanding of their condition in the morning.

Earlier, Hamas' Qassam Brigades released a video showing the two hostages being handed over to International Red Cross members.

In the video, two women in identical purple robes walk unsteadily while holding the hands of masked gunmen who offer them snacks and drinks. According to The Times of Israel, both appear terrified throughout much of the footage.

According to US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Washington welcomes the release of these hostages and will continue to work for the release of the remaining hostages, who are thought to number in the hundreds.

Earlier, Hamas released two American hostages, Judith Tai Raanan and her 17-year-old daughter Natali Raanan, CNN reported, adding that both were from Chicago.

They had been visiting relatives in Nahal Oz, a farming community in southern Israel, according to family members, and were released on "humanitarian grounds" due to the mother's poor health.
