PTC News Desk: A Pune-based Indian man, Bhuwan Chitransh, working in the Netherlands, found himself at the receiving end of racist comments from a prominent Canada-based accessories brand, Dbrand, after he raised a complaint regarding a MacBook accessory.

Chitransh took to social media, specifically X (formerly Twitter), to express his disappointment with Dbrand after his MacBook skin, purchased just two months prior, changed color. He tagged Dbrand's official account in his post, seeking advice on how to address the issue.


In a shocking turn of events, Dbrand responded with offensive remarks, mocking Chitransh's surname. The company's reply, laden with derogatory language, drew widespread condemnation and sparked outrage among users on social media platforms.

Despite mounting criticism, Dbrand refused to issue an apology or retract its remarks, opting to maintain its stance. The company's unapologetic behavior further fueled public outcry, with demands for accountability and corrective action gaining momentum.

Attempting to justify its actions, Dbrand asserted that its derogatory comments were made in response to the customer's complaint regarding a MacBook sleeve. However, this explanation failed to appease critics, who viewed the company's conduct as unacceptable and discriminatory.

Amidst the controversy, Dbrand's initial response to Chitransh's complaint regarding the MacBook skin reiterated standard maintenance instructions, advising him to clean the surface with a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the prevalence of racism and discrimination, even within the realm of customer service interactions, and underscores the importance of addressing such behavior and holding accountable those responsible.
