Over 50 injured as car ploughs into crowd during Liverpool parade, suspect held
PTC News Desk: A man was arrested on Monday after he rammed a car into the crowd during Liverpool parade in the city centre, injuring 50 people and leaving 27 hospitalised. The incident occurred shortly after the team’s open-top bus passed through, with thousands of supporters lining the streets to celebrate.
The video of the incident is doing rounds on social media which captured the exact terrifying moment when the car drove into a crowd of fans.
A number of individuals were struck by the car, which appeared to veer slightly in an attempt to avoid the crowd. In the footage, fans can be heard screaming and trying to flee as chaos erupts. Some people were thrown into the air, while others were dragged along by the vehicle.
After the collision, some people were seen lying on the road, while bystanders hurried to help.
