The highest number in the history of the pilgrimage journey was in 2012, with 1 crore 4 lakh 9 thousand and 5 hundred and 69 devotees paying obeisance at the holy shrine.

The recently inaugurated Skywalk project also proved to be helpful in crowd management. The skywalks stand 20 feet above the surface and help reduce the chaos between Manokama Bhawan and Gate Number 3 of Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan.

Besides Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan, adequate arrangements and facilities have also been made for the pilgrims at Katra, Adh-Kunwari, Bhairon Ghati, and other places on the Katra-Bhawan track. The shrine has in the recent past seen many additions in terms of facilities.

Vaishno Devi is not only a religious site but also a symbol of faith, drawing millions of pilgrims each year. The trek is considered a spiritual journey, and devotees undertake it with deep devotion and a sense of fulfillment. The traditional trek is approximately 13.5 kilometers from the base camp at Katra. Pilgrims can also reach the shrine by helicopter.
