Rajoana ends hunger strike after meeting with SGPC Chief

Rajoana ends hunger strike after meeting with SGPC Chief Beant Singh assassination case convict Balwant Singh Rajoana on Thursday ended his hunger strike after her sister Kamldeep Kaur Rajoana offered a glass of juice to him. Today was the fifth day of the fast. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Chief Gobind Singh Longowal met Rajoana Balwant Singh in Patiala Jail after which Rajoana has decided to end the hunger strike by Friday evening.

Gobind Singh Longowal, Chief SGPC also met Home Minster Rajnath Singh to discuss the issue, as per official information.
General Secretary and Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Prem Singh Chandumajra, Member of Parliament from Anandpur Sahib, Balwinder Singh Bhunder, MP and former MP Tarlochan Singh and President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal were part of the delegation. With the death row convict in the Beant Singh assassination case, Balwant Singh Rajoana, starting fast unto death in the Patiala central jail, the Shiromani Akali Dal and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) said their delegation will meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh earlier to pursue his pending mercy petition. -PTC News
