Air India to resume direct flights from Amritsar to London, date announced

In a big relief for Punjabis, Air India is all set to resume its direct flight services from Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport Amritsar to London Heathrow in the UK from August 16. As per the report, Air India is going to resume its once weekly, London Heathrow-Amritsar direct flights. The development comes after the UK Government decided to relax restrictions by moving India to Amber from the Red list. Likewise, Air India AI169 will depart Amritsar every Tuesday morning at 3:10 am. The booking for these direct flights is available till the end of October. The travelers can book the flights through the airline website, booking offices, and authorized travel agents. This will bring a big respite to thousands of people who have been stranded due to the restrictions imposed in view of the coronavirus pandemic. Those stranded will be able to proceed to their destinations in Punjab, India, and the UK. The resumption of these direct flights will help fliers between Punjab and the UK to travel conveniently in just 8 hours. Thus, Air India had also suspended the direct flights from Amritsar to London and Birmingham.
