Avtar Singh Hit completes religious punishment at Shri Harmandir Sahib; leaves for Patna Sahib

The acting president of Takhat Harmandir Patna Sahib Prabandhak Committee, Avtar Singh Hit on Monday left for Patna Sahib after completing his punishment at Sri Harmandir Sahib.

At Patna Sahib he will be cleaning utensils at ‘langar’ (community kitchen). He will also be cleaning shoes at 'jora ghar' (where shoes are kept) for 7 days. The bhog of Akhand Path will take place on the seventh day.

On January 28, the highest temporal body of the Sikh Community, Akal Takht, awarded religious punishment to Avtar Singh Hit for comparing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the Sikh gurus during the 352nd birth anniversary of tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh.
